Florida CAM Online
Privacy policy
What we collect, why we collect it, who else sees it, and how to get it deleted.
Last updated: August 4, 2026
This policy explains how [Registered legal entity name], trading as Florida CAM Online ("we"), handles personal information collected through floridacamonline.com. It applies to visitors to the site and to enrolled students.
What we collect
| Category | Examples | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Account information | Name, email address, password (stored hashed) | To create your account and issue your certificate |
| Course activity | Lessons completed, quiz and practice-exam scores, time spent, completion dates | To track progress, enforce completion standards, and evidence participation |
| Payment information | Billing name, email, last four digits and card brand, transaction ID | To take payment and handle refunds. Full card numbers never reach our servers |
| Correspondence | Emails you send us and our replies | To answer you and keep a record of support history |
| Technical data | IP address, browser and device type, pages visited, referring site | Security, troubleshooting, and understanding site usage |
We do not collect Social Security numbers. Your SSN is required by the Department on your licence application — you provide it directly to the state, never to us.
How we use it
- Providing the course and issuing certificates of completion.
- Taking payment and processing refunds.
- Responding to your questions.
- Meeting our record-keeping obligations as an education provider, including making completion records available to the Department on request.
- Keeping the service secure and diagnosing faults.
- Sending you service messages about your enrolment. We will only send marketing email if you opt in, and every marketing email carries an unsubscribe link.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.
Who we share it with
We use a small number of service providers to run the site:
- Stripe — payment processing. Stripe receives your payment details directly and is responsible for them under its own privacy policy.
- Supabase — account authentication and the database holding your progress records.
- Vercel — website hosting and delivery.
- [Email provider, if used — e.g. Resend, Postmark]
- [Analytics provider, if used — otherwise delete this line]
We also disclose information where the law requires it, or to the Department of Business and Professional Regulation in connection with our obligations as an education provider.
Cookies
We use cookies that are necessary for the site to function — keeping you signed in and remembering your light or dark theme preference. [If you add analytics or advertising cookies, list them here and add a consent banner]
How long we keep it
- Course completion records — retained for [retention period — confirm against provider rule] as required of an education provider.
- Account data — for as long as your account is open, then deleted on request.
- Payment records — as long as tax and accounting law requires, typically [e.g. 7 years].
- Correspondence — [e.g. 2 years].
Your rights
You can ask us to:
- Give you a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Correct anything that is wrong.
- Delete your account and data — subject to records we are required to keep as an education provider, and to financial records we must retain.
- Stop sending you marketing email.
Email info@akasg.com and we will respond within [e.g. 30 days]. Florida residents have rights under Florida law, and residents of other states or countries may have additional rights — tell us where you live and we will apply whichever gives you more.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS. Passwords are hashed, never stored in readable form. Access to student records is limited to people who need it to operate the course. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects your information we will notify you as the law requires.
Children
The course is for adults seeking professional licensure. Florida requires CAM applicants to be at least 18. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18, and will delete it if we discover we have.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of the page, and tell enrolled students by email where the change is significant.
